Expo Science Park is a science themed park located in Doryong-dong, Yuseong-gu. It opened in August 7th, 1994 and has attracted many for its exhibitions of new science technology. Since 2006, the park has allowed free admissions into the park. For more information, visit

Expo Science Park; For Children

Body World: Body World has exhibitions that allow kids to explore the inside of the human body. The first exhibition pavillion shows what our body is made of. The second exhibition pavillion is a play area that allows children to exercise their whole body.

Magic Plaza: Magic Plaza is a playground that lets kids imagine themselves as a part of nature as they play (leaf-shaped trampoline, pictures of butterflies, fish and other animals on the ground and a 14-meters tall artificial tree).

Aqua Resort: Aqua Resort is only open in the summer. It is a pool located in the middle of the park, with a playground and a cafe for not only the kids, but the adults as well to enjoy and relax.

Expo Science Park; Theatres

Simulation theatre: Simulation theatre has moving chairs that allow you to feel as if you're being sucked into the movie. You can feel both thrill and adventure while watching a movie from the Simulation Theatre.

IMAX Dome Theatre: IMAX Dome Theatre has the biggest screen in the country with the diameter of 27 meters. The chairs are on slant land so that the audience will lie down and watch the screen ono the ceiling.

Electric Energy Pavillion: In the Electric Energy Pavillion, you can learn about the discovery of light, energy of the future, the Earth and its environment, the housing life of the future as well as a 3D movie. (Electric Energy Pavillion website)

Expo Science Park; Exhibition Pavillions

Tower of Great Light: People are first on a 30-seconds-long glass elevator that makes people feel as if they're in space. From the observatory, you can see the city view of Daejeon.

Advanced Science and Technology Center: People can see and experience the high technology skills of 17 research insitutes in the Daedeok Research and Development area. (Advanced Science and Technology Center website)

North Korea Pavillion: People can learn about the real facts of North Korea, as well as the North-South relationship. There are 12 other North Korea Pavillions in the country.

Energy Pavillion: The Energy Pavillion has exhibitions to show the history of energy, ways to save energy and new technology in energy. There is also a 3D Movie related to energy. (Energy Pavillion website)

Kumodori Land is a very popular amusment park in Daejeon. It is the only big amusement park in the central part of South Korea. It has many fun rides liked by teenagers as well as people in 20's.
