Gung-dong is located in Yuseong-gu, near Shinsung-dong and Eoeun-dong. Chungnam National University, Hanbat University and Mokwon University are all located in Gung-dong. Because of the universities located in this area, there are many places for young students to go, such as the Gung-dong Shopping District. Students can shop and eat for fairly moderate prices in the area. Chungnam National University Jeongsimhwa International Cultural Center 충남국립대학 정심화국제문화센터 is a three-stories building inside Chungnam University, where musicals, concerts and other performances are held. Inside Chungnam University, there is also the National History Museum with exhibitions displaying items from the Stone Age to the Chosun Dynasty.Gung-dong also has a catholic church called Gung-dong Church. Only a few minutes from Chungnam University, there is Gung-dong Park, which leads to Eungolsan Mountain 은골산.
